saw an incredible show last night at UC Davis' Mondavi Center: pat methany group. pat is well known as a jazz guitarist, and I thought I'd just be a good way to unwind after my (f'n) genetics midterm. The show was all over the place. 8 performers, all very tight, each played at least 2 different instruments. The music was all instrumental & intricately composed, a blend of instrumental zappa, phish, wes montgomery, & al di meola. Very entertaining, if loud. my seat was center of upper tier, just where I wanted it (the sound is best there). the mondavi center is beautiful, check it out!:
