Alan Robinson - Mesa Flood

"It never rains in southern California." - Architect who designed my apartment complex.

We had three days of rain this winter, and only on the third did it really pour. But starting around 5AM? it came down hard, and by noon I was flooded in. Ok, not really, but it's certainly impossible to leave without getting your shoes either soaking wet, or filthy muddy. So I took some pictures. It's also an excuse to show off the lovely grounds of the grad student housing at UCSD (North Mesa apartments, specifically). All pictures are taken within 50 feet of my building, which is the closest one to the N. Mesa bus stop (a nice bonus, except that it's also the last stop in the complex, so during busy times it's impossible to get a seat, and sometimes there's not even standing room (ie you have to wait until the next bus, 30 minutes later).

These are some of the last pictures I plan to take with my old FinePix 2300 camera. It actually did pretty well for itself, though there were a couple shots with very high contrast (one of which I fixed by hand). Soon I'll be upgrading to a new camera, better in all respects, I just don't know which one yet :-)
